As a therapist, I particularly love reflexology treatments as they are a very meditative practice and a great level of presence is required. I leave the session greatly relaxed as well!
Reflexology is an alternative therapy based on the principles that points of the feet (also hands, face and ear) are energetically connected to other parts, organs and systems of the body. These points are stimulated by pressure with specific thumb and finger techniques. Reflexology then aims to re-establish energetic balance in areas that are source of pain, discomfort of disease (by stimulating the reflex points of those areas). Back into balance, the body and mind’s inner ability to heal will be able to work its magic ! There are many styles and approaches to reflexology but the principle is the same.
Reflexology is one of the least invasive complementary therapy as only the feet and lower calves are worked on, and so suits most. You don’t even need to disrobe !
During a reflexology treatment you will experience a deep state of relaxation. You will come out feeling like you’ve caught up on a night of sleep in only an hour!
Reflexology is great for stress and anxiety, digestive and respiratory problems, hormonal imbalances, sleeping disorders, physical aches and pain, migraines, and some conditions for which massage is contra-indicated, etc…
If you haven’t yet found the therapy that suits you, or you just want to try something different, it might be time to come and try Reflexology!
